CLAP FIVE!! Like the five fingers of a hand
For this recent project in the context of a continuous search for more sustainable materials and processes, YKK has associated itself with four other realities of the Italian textile industry: Limonta for the fabric (ECONYL®), The Tailor Pattern Support, in the person of the designer Alessio Berto for the design, Eurotrade for the realization of the product and, last but not least, Tintoria Emiliana for the final dyeing.
As part of the research on the use of regenerated nylon, with a view to circular production in fashion, garment dyeing of the product was in fact the main focus. Since YKK began producing zips and snaps with ECONYL® material, the circularity of a garment made of Nylon has become tangible reality. But further verification of the behaviour of these materials in the process of garment dyeing had yet to be demonstrated.
It is done.
The garment dye, as well as being able to offer a very attractive finishing of the fabric, a little vintage, a little “worne garment”, allows a valid optimization in the production processes, making it possible to proceed with the dyeing of a garment – prepared in advance – at the arrival of orders, with a significant decrease in waste at all levels.
Along with many other products that offer solutions to the major challenges posed to the fashion industry to reduce its dramatic footprint, YKK exhibits five artefacts in the Milano Unica stand, two sets of five bomber sleeves, one for each type of textile in five different colours. The same samples will then be exhibited at the Tintoria Emiliana showroom, alongside other interesting products.
