YKK WITH TINTORIA EMILIANA, LIMONTA AND TOYOSHIMA FOR A SPECIAL PROJECT ON GARMENT DYEING
In the continuous pursuit of improving materials and processes, YKK Italia S.p.A. has collaborated with other entities in the textile industry to create three sets of jackets. Each set consists of an item dyed in its natural colour, using three different materials. The design is by Teppei Sugaya, with YKK Corporation handling the patterning and sewing, Limonta providing the ECONYL® nylon fabric, and Toyoshima contributing the cotton and polyester fabric. Finally, Tintoria Emiliana is responsible for the nal dyeing process, and their collaboration has resulted in an exceptional end product.
As part of this research, particular emphasis is placed on dyeing the nal product in polyester, cotton, or nylon.
YKK produces zippers with organic cotton tape, recycled polyester tape, or regenerated nylon tape, along with snaps in a natural dyeable color. The behavior of these materials in the garment dyeing process is currently being tested and showcased at Milano Unica, at the YKK stand ( Pav. 8 – C12)
The same three series of samples will later be exhibited at the Tintoria Emiliana showroom, alongside other intriguing products.
