YKK Italia, together with leading companies in the fashion sector, is part of the multi-stakeholder Monitor for Circular Fashion project born with the scientific contribution of the SDA Bocconi Sustainability Lab and the cross-industry vision of Enel X. The goal is to contribute to the transition towards circular business models through concrete and measurable solutions.
For 2023, the more than 20 ingredient brands, vendors, brands, retailers and service providers in the Italian fashion sector that have joined the project have set themselves 4 goals: implement eco-design principles; help create a common standard of traceability and transparency to build reliable sustainability claims; investing in technological innovation to accelerate the sustainable and circular transition, with particular attention to traceability technologies towards the Digital Product Passport; support circular innovations through collaboration and cooperation between companies in the supply chain.
Numerous initiatives for 2023 that will see the active involvement of companies in the community together with students interested in sustainability and circularity in the fashion sector and born circular and born sustainable startups.
Furthermore, during the next edition of Lineapelle Francesca Romana Rinaldi – Director Monitor for Circular Fashion, SDA Bocconi School of Management –will intervene during the talk on February 22nd on the theme of Traceability and Circularity in the International Leather Supply Chain presenting the main results of the first two reports Annual Monitor and will introduce the research activity for 2023.
The seminar organized by UNIC – Italian Tanneries and Lineapelle will present projects, initiatives and results on various key aspects of the sustainability of the value chain at an international level.
