YKK has launched YKK Trim Creator, a 3D trim configurator aimed at helping designers configure the most suitable zip for their creations.

The global manufacturer of fastening solutions has partnered with Vntana to create the platform. The California-based company’s 3D software enables brands to use the latest 3D technologies on digital platforms such as e-commerce sites, virtual B2B showrooms, social media and the metaverse.

A 2022 survey found that YKK customers would like to digitally customize a zip by identifying the descriptions and codes of the desired items themselves. YKK Trim Creator responds to these needs.

Through YKK Trim Creator, Vntana’s patented trim algorithms allow YKK customers to easily view thousands of custom trims. This allows designers to easily specify zip components, view the design in real-time in 3D, and share the model via a simple URL.
