The new edition of Madeinmedi, the Mediterranean Design & Fashion Week between Milan and Catania, is at the starting tape

Big news for this new edition of Madeinmedi – Mediterranean Design & Fashion Week at the starting ribbons. The opening of the event will be in Milan on June 28. The students coming out of the academic courses of Fashion Design and Jewelry Design of the Euromediterranean Academy will, in fact, be the protagonists, between fashion shows and static shows, of the prestigious MILANO MODA GRADUATE event at BASE in via Bergognone 34, organized in synergy between Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and Piattaforma SistemaFormativo Moda.

But it doesn’t end here because, after returning from Milan, activities will continue in Catania with the organization of fashion shows, shootings, competitions for new faces, jewelry films, praemiums to prestigious names, design exhibitions and more. Unprecedented location for the 2016 edition of Madeinmedi will be the well-known Plaza Hotel Catania.

On Saturday, July 2, starting at 8:30 p.m., the show, presented by Nino Graziano Luca, will kick off with international designers, Shahira Fawzy and Raja El Rayes, the collection of young Antonio Attisano, and the presentation of the YKK collection. Praemium MADEINMEDI 2016 will be presented to distinguished names in goldsmithing, design, digital communication and fashion such as Vogue Fashion Editor Mirella Musumeci and Dr. Claudio Russo, representative of the International Gemmological Institute in Antwerp. For the web and design category: the Sicilian start-up Flazio and Improntabarre, a well-known design studio.

Next, the creations of the young designers of the Euromediterranean Academy will be paraded: Debora Fazio with the “Kataskeue” collection; Giulia Ferruzza with “Net or Network? “, Marta Romano with “Amaterasu”, Elisa Torrisi with “Phalaenopsis”, Martina Blasco with the collection “Beaux de nuit”; Roberta Torrisi with “Ekleipsis”, Giorgia Vitello with “Universal Appeal”; Daniela Latella with “‘nchima”; Roberta Maggio with “Zentangle”; Martina Saccà with “Kintsugi”; Federica Romeo with “Painted Ladies”; Federica Marisca: “Ubuntu”; Ambra Castello with “A. C.A. Attention Crochet Annoying” and Elisa Santaera with “Hush.” The Fashion Film for YKK, the industry leader in zippers and main sponsor of the event, will be presented during the show. A dedicated exhibition also featured the creations of Interior and Industrial Design students Selene Cassarino and her “Deda,” Francesco Garofalo with “Insky” and Dalila Campo with “1.618.”

Among the many partners, in addition to YKK, the French fashion company, PROMOD – Boutique Française, will also be the protagonist of our fashion week thanks to the realization of a fashion shoot in Sicily in collaboration with the Madeinmedi team. Media partner of the event, again this year, the well-known magazine I Love Sicily. Hair styling will be exclusively by L’ORÉAL Professionnel, which will curate the fashion shows, shoots and the entire Madeinmedi calendar, along with make-up artist Maurizio Calcagno.
