Also for 2025, YKK Italia demonstrates its desire to concretely contribute to the growth of young talents in Fashion Design by reconfirming itself as MAIN PARTNER of MILANO MODA GRADUATE, the event created by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana which enhances the talent of students from the best Italian fashion schools.
The annual fashion show of the Milano Moda Graduate project will also be held this year in September at the opening of the Milan Fashion Week® Women’s Collection.
The project is made up of two categories, Fashion Design and YKK, for of which 6 and 10 students respectively will show their creations during the fashion show. For the Fashion Design category each student will present a capsule collection, while for the YKK section each student will present an outfit focused on closure accessories. The fashion show, the result of a tutorship process starting in May, will take place in front of a prestigious parterre and an international jury that will award a prize for each category.
The tutorship path intended for the 16 finalists began on Wednesday 14 May with a visit to the YKK Italia factory in the province of Vercelli, during which the students had the opportunity to discover the zipper production processes. Subsequently, the students had the opportunity to participate in a masterclass held by the Japanese designer Kei Kagami to learn the techniques and secrets of producing a handcrafted bag where the zip is the absolute protagonist.
