On November 8th and 9th , YKK Italia – the Italian subsidiary of the YKK Group – celebrated its 50th anniversary by organizing two prestigious events. The company, founded in 1968 in Prarolo (VC), celebrated the achievement of this important goal first with a dinner reserved for its customers in the prestigious location of the “Società del Giardino”, a wonderful secret corner in the heart of Milan, thanking them for the trust and support they have shown in all these years of collaboration. The event was attended by Tadahiro Yoshida – Former CEO & Chairman of YKK Corporation, Hiroaki Otani – current President of YKK Corporation and Toru Yamamoto – Managing Director of YKK Europe, along with other Group management positions. The evening opened with a welcome speech by Hitoshi Yamaguchi – President of YKK Italy, followed by speeches by Carlo Capasa – President of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Yuji Amamiya – Consul General of Japan in Italy, finally with greetings and thanks from Mr. Yoshida and Mr. Otani. During the evening YKK Italia presented through a fashion show, the proposals of three students who took part in the “Milano Moda Graduate 2018”, a prestigious competition promoted by CNMI reserved for graduating students in Fashion Design, of which YKK Italia was main partner. The three looks have been awarded as “YKK Italia Best collection”. On the catwalk the leaders of: Simona Pedone, Alejandra Rendon Felix and Martina Trezzi.
The event on November 9th was a day dedicated to the employees of YKK Italia and the community of Vercelli – where the factory resides. During the morning, an awards ceremony was organized for employees with over 40 years of activity in the company and then in the Municipality of Vercelli where the mayor of the city, Maura Forte, welcomed the representatives of YKK. The event continued in the evocative historical location “Manica delle Donne” with a lunch attended by YKK employees and local authorities.
